I'll bet the idiot that touched it off went on their merry way.

I dont know what happened all I know is I was the 2nd person on the scene, and first to render help, my wife and kids were in the van (not good for them to see) and I needed to render 1st aide.
Good job on stopping to render aid. In my 15 years of coppin, I have helped scrape up dead bikers and those that wish they were and its not fun. I know there are a lot of people that HATE helmets but I can tell you as someone that went down at over 50 mph, I was glad I had one on. There are two types of motorcyclists, those that have been down and those that will be going down. Believe it.

Good first aid rendered by a calm person goes a long way towards survivability. Glad you could be of help. Everybody should take a good first aid class that at least covers simple bandaging and splinting and scene safety. Hard sometimes to find cool heads in emergencies.

...... ya never know when some cage in front of you is gonna create an issue
...... this can serve as a reminder to all of us to continually note where others riding w/us ARE in the event we need to take evasive action.
... thanks for stopping to help MDER, paying it forward like that is bound to come back around for ya.

Bob, it could of very well been not just the cage driver's fault.
The cage could of never of signaled, jammed on his brakes, maybe he did signal, tapped his brakes to give warning he's slowing down.

It sounds as maybe the bikes were following the cage too close, maybe not.

The article read as the three bikes were riding to close to each other.
Domino effect.

About a year ago there was a MC in the PNW that prided themselves on riding tight formation and fast. Something happened. Who knows what, but 12 bikes went down.

Even the blue angels have had accidents.

Domino's should be played with wooden blocks not motorcycles.

A Moe used to tell Larry and Curley: spread out give some room

According to the article, the car was making a u-turn out of the bookstore.
They probaly pulled right out in front of them.I know that road, lots of traffic, lots of it weekend drivers going to bear mountain.

One of the things I got out of the MSF classes that I have taken is Search, Evaluate, Execute. That part of the PIP is a little nuts (i.e no shoulder and rough road). Just wait until the leaf peepers come out!
