Good job keeping the bike up. Lucky it wasn't one of those elk I saw there a few weeks ago.

I just plane don't ride after dark anymore. I hit a deer in the middle of Kansas on I-70 a few months ago, and my wife and I were really looking hard to avoid them. We did not see it until it was in my right headlight, and about 5 feet in front of us. No way could we avoid hitting it, and it did $3.000 damage to the van. I was running about 60, and if I would have been on my Softail, it would have been really bad.

Glad you and your wife are not seriously hurt. I had somthing similar happen years ago on Chief Joesph hwy by Cody Wy. We were lucky, just a random colon check. Same thing looked away for seconds. How far were you from home?

Glad the 2 of you made it out with such minor injuries, I just rode home at dusk, and was really watching the side of the road, lot's of deer out here this time of year.

A lot of people don't get to go home and post about hitting a deer. They're messed up or dead. Hope you realize how lucky you guys were. Good job.
