Salvaged Harleys

I'd have no problem with a salvage bike. It doesn't take much for an insurance company to total a bike. I think the posts about 1/2 retail are far from reality for a repaired salvage bike but prices are usually good.

Be sure that you check with your insurance company. Some companies will not insure Salvage Title bikes and some charge a premium. You might also want to get a shop to check it out before you buy.
Good luck.

A couple of weeks ago I was bidding on an 08 Street Bob with a clean title, It was a repo and looked like the owner tool a hammer to it before they took it. I put a 4200.00 bid on it and was the lead bidder for a week, but let it go..it went for 6000.00. Which isnt bad, It would of took a minimum of 1500.00 - 2000.00 to fix. The point is...if I cant get a good deal, I'm not going to take that road. Not when you can get a good used bike of the same model for just a little bit more.

Salvage bikes will be harder to sell no matter how minor, or how good the repairs were done. People will always shy away. But if you plan on keeping it for a long time and can get it insured, you will get a deal. most insurance company's won't give you full coverage just liability on iy.,
