My girlfriend has small hands
I just got myself a new Road Glide and lowered my old 06
Street Bob so my girlfriend can ride it. After getting a lowering kit and a bare bones seat the seat height was fine for her legs. She's pretty small. The problem now is her hands are very small and the reach for the front brake and clutch are difficult. The clutch is more of the issus. After a few hours riding her thumb begings to swell. The bike does have the reduced reach Harley grips on it. The grips are fairly fat. I was thinking of changing out the grips to a sportster model. Any other suggestions out there from others that have had the same problem?

This situation might be best discussed at your local HD dealer's service department. As you've already noticed, there probably isn't a "single solution" that remedies a short statured rider.
In addition to the changes you've already made, you might need a new handle bar, hand grips, and maybe different clutch and front brake levers, plus some adjustments in the hand controls themselves. They may also suggest a lower kit to make sure she touch the ground on a variety of different road surfaces.

Sportster grips are NOT going to make a difference since Sportster grips are the exact same as you can put on BT's...... All the replacements are for 1" bar ends. You need to look at whether they are the skiny grips or thick ones.

HD makes a set of grips that are rectangular, and not cylindrical. See what those feel like. Also, Kury makes reduced reach levers for smaller hands.
My girlfriend doesn't have small hands; I just make them look that way.

Most HD grips are in 3 different sizes, ranging from 1.3 inch up to 1 .6 all depending on the style.
You can also switch out the levers to the kuryakan Boss Blades, they are the shortest reach available. I did both for my wife and she can now handle the bike much better.
Kuryakan now has an Adjustable Boss Blade...might be worth looking at..

Seriously, the ladies in the Queens have all sorts of solutions for this. I never looked into it cuz none of those things were available back in the day.
