Negotiating The Deal...
#31
I discovered that having student loans makes things interesting, especially with your interest rate. My scenario played out like this (21, no credit cards, student loans): Bike was 4500 sitting on the showroom floor, dealer changed the rocker gaskets and the front tire. Took 1290 down cash in order to get the keys, and it came out to $92 a month with 21% interest. Yikes. Hopefully I can get that number lowered before its paid off. Not a terrifying payment, but not super cheap. It's livable.

I'm setting it up for 72 months to keep the payments down.... However, I start collecting my AF Reserve retirement pay in 3 years so it'll be paid off shortly after that. I was originally going to wait until then to get the bike, but I figured.. nah, I'm already 57 so why rob myself of 3 great years on a Harley. Makes sense to me.

its a 5 yr loan, but there's no penalty for paying it off early or increasing the amount paid per month. I went through HD financial, and being a first time buyer they'll help you out. Also Jodi @ Wisconsin HD busted *** and made numerous phone calls to make things go smoothly.
