Removing all the "badges" that tell someone it is a Harley Davidson, on your motorcycle; Fine. But the engine is the most identifiable symbol to the avid rider. Remove that and your riding a metric machine. Put in a v-twin with circular heads; Indian. I digress.
Why did these riders take off all of the identifiers on their motorcycles? The same reason owners here, on this site, remove the following: badges, bars, seats, paint schemes, license brackets, derby covers, points covers, intake covers, relocate turn signals, etc. To make the motorcycle their own.
Why do I wear/own H-D shirts? I don't know, I just do. Growing up, H-D's were very identifiable to me and with the whole "buy American" in the late 70's early to mid 80's, I think it stuck with me. I am proud to own a piece of "Americana." I will wear the t-shirt they did not pay me to advertise. Just like these advertisers did not pay any of us: N.I.K.E, Adidas, Timberland, Polo, Levis, Lucky Jeans, Tommy Hilfinger, or Coca-Cola, and Pepsi. Face it we now live in the visual generation. Logos are everywhere......

Well! You know what they say. Imitaition is the greatest form of flattery. Do you think these metric companys would be building cruisers that look like Harleys if Harley wasn't selling so many of them. I have seen several of these metrics up close, and I do not think the manufacturer puts any emblems on them so they will look just a little more like a HD cruiser. I looked one over the other day, and after looking for a while finally found Kawasaki in small letters on one of the engine covers. The metric builders are pretty smart.

It's highly likely that both of those bikes cost less than your Harley, look just as good or better in their own way, and would smoke your Harley in a straight line or in the twisties so maybe it's best to just get over it and live and let live like someone else already said.
I'm all about the "Live and let live",however I will say this; They ever wanna race me I will give a healthy serving of humble pie on my Harley. Then, after I smoke em' on my Harley, they can ride mine,I will take thiers and do it all over again! LOL!

I agree that the rider has a LOT to do with it and have proven that myself a number of times. I have references.

In my case I was not trying to hide the fact that it was a Honda--- I was just trying to make something that nobody else owned. If you could not tell what it was, then I accomplished my mission. It has nothing to do with Harley or Honda.

I sure couldn't have determined what it is just by looking at it... except that it most definitely is NOT a Harley!

That's a very good-looking bike! I love bright yellow bikes. It has just the right amount of chrome on it, too... which looks really good against the yellow.

Does not matter what letters are on the tank----it is still the same wind in your face.

The MoCo has brought yellow back for 2011, and the Heritage in yellow looks great IMHO. I think that yellow is one of those colors that seems to look either really good or really bad, depending on the bike. Yours look great!
I like your last statement, too. Riding anything is WAY better than not riding anything, and if you have a good mindset, riding any bike is FUN!
