2 different tires on same bike.

In my opinion,
It does not matter what problems or not might be involved in different models of tires installed on the same bike,
If I requested the STOCK tires be installed on my bike, I damn well better see them on when I pick up my bike,
The Service Department of that shop is retarded,
What shop??????

As far as the bike goes, you'll be fine. Don't mix bias and radials.
As to the shop pulling a fast one by not installing what you asked for and not telling you, that is a different story. I would address it with the service manager and if you don't get the desired response, I would take it on up the chain of command.

I agree you need to go back and offer some complaints. If one of the mechanics did it and didn't report what he did the manager needs to know it. The tires will be fine but you might want and expect some type of compensation for their screwup.

My Opinion
Presently running a Dunlop 591 rear and had 402 on front. I can only say even with my very conservative driving the 591 wears like a #2 pencil erasure owned by a 1's grader. Both the 402 (only Dunlop that fits front on my Deuce as best as I can tell) and the 591 were recommended by the Harley dealer. I am running a Metzeler 880 on front now with the 591 rear. My Harley with 40K has had four sets of Dunlops and now the 880 on the front. I cannot tell a lot of difference but I never push it to the edge.

Went back, got it fixed. But it wasn't easy. When I called last week to make sure they had the stock rear tire in stock, they did not so I had to order it from them. When I called them to tell them they put the wrong tire on they told me thats what I ordered and they couldn't find a part number, said that I told them that part number from Drag Specialties. I've never bought anything from Drag Specialties, never even heard of the Sportmax Touring tire until I saw it on my bike, and even if I did why would I put that on the back and a stock Dunlop up front? So they tell me they have it in stock and ask me to pay labor to change it. I said "no, I've already paid labor to have the stock tire put on, I'm not paying it again" they told me to stop by and they would do it. So I got it fixed, it was an honest mistake, he ordered the wrong tire, it happens. What pisses me off is being blamed for his mistake and told that I ordered it and gave them the part number I've never heard of, and then be asked to pay another $68 for it. If he would have said "oops, ordered the wrong one, sorry, stop by and we'll make it right" I honestly wouldn't have a problem. I guess thats what I get for not checking it before I left the shop, I've never had a problem with them changing a tire for me before so I assumed it was done right.
It wasn't the fault of the service department, they just put on the tire that the parts guy said I ordered.

I don't want any compesation for it, only wanted what I asked for to begin with. They told me stock tire was actually $10 more than the wrong one, I tried 3 times to pay the extra $10 because thats what it costs but they wouldn't take it.

Not on my bike it wouldn't be ok. Technically, maybe yes, it will be ok. But if I asked for the stock replacements I better be getting it. On an 09 Fatboy that's a Dunlop D407 on the back and D408 up front (D407 front was replaced with D408).
You asked for A and they gave you B. I wouldn't tolerate it.

On my RKC I have the stock Dunlop tire on the front, but on the back I went with the Elite 3 Dunlop. I kind of like the tread pattern and have been happy with it so far with 3000 miles. Two different tread patterns and can't tell a difference
