Default Need Touring Bike Recommendation

I'm a sportbike rider (Ninja ZX6R) but my wife wants to ride with me and is very uncomfortable on the little seat on the back of my Ninja. I've been considering a Harley touring bike. The Electra Glides seam to be really comfortable for my wife and have lots of storage area for long weekends, but I'm not sure I like the fairing. I do like the looks of the Road King. I'm told you can add a 4-point bracket that accepts a "tour pak". And this pak adds a rear seat back and hard luggage.

I also like that the Road King has no front fairing and only a removable wind screen.

Any recommendations or experience as to why I'd be happier with one or the other?

Thanks in adavnce.

Mike

If my wife still rode her own the choice would be easy .. Road King .. With her needs and wants including Luggage space and her queen seat .. Went with the Ultra ...

You've got to go to the Demo rides. Dates and locations given on the HD website.

Also Harley dealers will allow demo rides. Just call ahead.

ELECTRAGLIDE:
More passenger comfort
Comes with tour pack and you can make it removable for less than you would spend adding a tour pak to the RK
stereo.
ROADKING:
More sporty
Removable windshield

Sounds like the RK is the one you want. Great bike plus awesome looks. EG's have the caddy look, RK's have attitude. BTW, I own softails so I'm a neutral vote. If you want to go middle of the road, SG with a tourpack.

Is she going to ride all the time??? I had a Road King and now I have an Ultra. I love everything that the Ultra has. After not having a radio on the Road King I knew I wanted to have a radio. My wife has never ridden on my Ultra but all the room is great for carrying stuff in the Tour Pac. If she is not going to ride a lot the Street Glide is hard to beat.

I am going to ad one more model Street Glide but you need a sundowner seat.

Roadking nimble, light and balanced. To me almost like a Sportster.

Ultra pure comfort.

Street glide a little of both, plus just a great looking bike.

I will say the mid 2011 there is a Ultra in my future.

And last ABS is worth every cent, especially in a Touring bike.

Both nice bikes but there is a big difference between the fairing and a windshield...test drive both.

I have had a Road King for the last 5 years and love it. I'm currently pondering a Street Glide. If I do get the SG, I will still keep the Road King as I love her.

Two years to go till 50 and promised myself no Geezer Glide till then (Just kidding guys, hold the flames.)
