Default Military Base Motorcycle Pass

I've met all requirements that are found on the information pages. They say you are required to take an MSF course which I have. I took it in New Jersey while on leave.

Does anyone know if Camp Lejeune will accept my MSF cert I got in Jersey or if they will force me to take an MSF course through the base?

This is the order: http://www.mccslejeune.com/motorcyclesafety.html

It never specifies where I have to take the MSF course, so I'll probably be fine. In fact I'll just slap the card on the desk and not even mention where I took the course.

It won't matter. As long as you have the course you're good to go.

Agree with Bob. It'll be good regardless of where you took the course.

I think the shelf life on that course is three years. Looking for others to chime in if that info's not correct.

And thanks for your service!

Yup, just need the course no matter where it was taken. The Navy just updated their requirements to include the Advanced rider course as well.

The way i understand it is you have to take the MSF and within 2 or 3 years you have to take the advanced rider course then update it every 2 or 3 years. I need to look up wether its 2 or 3 years.

I'll be out in January, so I just need to be able to ride until then. That's when my life as a nomad biker begins.

It varies at some bases. But most at most Marine bases it doesn't matter where you took your course. When I was stationed at Kaneohe Bay, HI, I used a card that I got in Alabama. When I got stationed at Pendleton they they had a base order that required me to take the course on their base (that was back in 2002, the rules might be different now). I just got to Quantico a few weeks ago, and was able to use my old MSF card. I'm pretty sure that Lejeune will accept your card from another location. As long as you have all the correct paperwork (insurance, registration, etc) you should be good to go.
