2011 Ultra Classic Limited
Hi All, I just purchased a new 2011 Ultra Limited. I want to know if any one with same bike has this problem. When in 4th or 5th gear and accelerating on and off gas I get this slapping noise. Sounds like the primary tensioner is missing. Harley said this is due to new coupler being used. I say anything making a noise is something wearing or improper clearances. Thanks. BIG NICK 43.

Don't have a 2011 Limited, but I have a 2010 Ultra.....and yes.....just as the tension hits, or comes off of the drive line I notice a clack.
It as just in last week for the 5k servicing, and the clutch adjustment seemed to have removed a little bit of it. Could be my imagination tho.

Noise
Thanks for the feed back. I,m Taking it in tomorrow to have them make a record of the problem. I was told that they are not at this time making this a warranty problem. I don't want the primary breaking off and wrapping around the rear sprocket and locking the rear wheel up.

As far I know, the 103 is the same as the police engine that has been out for some time. Most all of the kinks have been ironed out. Harley-Davidson introduced in 2006 its Twin Cam 103™ engine. At 1,690cc, this was developed in part to meet the California Highway Patrol's performance requirements. This engine, which develops 102 ft-lb of torque, was developed for police work from Harley's Screaming Eagle® or Fat Boy® engine.

When I bought my 2010 Limited the service manager told me it will make some noises that do not seem quite right. He told me after he learned of my 35+ years on metrics.
