So, what do you think it would cost to put virtully EVERY piece of chrome on a Softtail? I just saw a Softtail Deluxe with just about everything chromed-including swingarm and other parts I've never seen chromed before. It was beautiful. Wondering what it would cost AND where would you draw the line--I mean what wouldn't you chrome?

 

Well, I wouldn't chrome the seat, windshield, or tires. After that, all is open. Costs depends on where you buy, especially at discount/sales prices, and how much labor you put into the "bolt on" stuff yourself. Chrome is the new "crack". Take you time adding a few items here and there, then you will be like the rest of us...forget/don't know. Just like drug users...can't ask them how much they spent on dope. They don't know, but probably a lot.

 

My motto is if I gotta ask I probably shouldnt buy it!

 

Was it as chromed as this? The owner told me it cost 3500 bucks just to chrome the bags and side plate covers.

 

I don't know and I don't wanta know.I'm not keeping track.Not done yet.Just doin a little at a time as I can.

 

XXXFLHCI, No it didn't have all that chrome. Jeez! That bike is something else. I'd draw the line quite a bit earlier than that.

 

Though I've never heard of it, I wouldn't be surprised if they chromed the mirror glass like those old aviator sunglasses.

 

I stopped counting after several thousand dollars. BUt not all was chrome.

 

More money than i got !!!!!

 

I have about $10,000 in chrome and after market on my bike. I don't think theres anything left to chrome. Of course the tank, fenders, seats and tires don't count. If you check out my photos in my profle, these were taken back in the winter, I have added even more stuff since then.
