I took a V Rod out for an hour recently and brought it back after 20 minutes. Not a good ride at all for me. Takes corners like a cement truck! Not comfortable! Not worth much used either.

My 2 cents ... keep the Fat Boy.

The V-rod motor is pretty disappointing. You would be better sinking a little more money into your Fat Boy's engine if you want more performance. The Revolution motor was great 10 years ago but it' lacking by modern standards for a 1200cc water cooled engine. Ducati, BMW, KTM, and Aprillia are are putting out water cooled 1200cc twins in the 160-190 hp range. Harley picked the wrong Europeans (Porche) to design that engine.

All very true. I looked at a BMW with 193 hp last week that has 4 power settings to keep you from flipping it in the rain.

As for beefing up the 88TC it's not in the cards for this bike. My FLHX is a 110" with 100/100, my other softail is a 95" (10.25:1 / Branch heads and 204 cams and makes 80+ HP). The Sportster is a 883/1200 with Andrews cams. The hassle free stock (Stage 1 / PC / V&H pipe is one of the things I like about the fatboy.

I wondered about the CVO status of this bike. Thanks for the heads up. They call it SE, give it a limited production and fancy paint and big motor. I'm really going to have to rethink this. Thanks!

I'd trade it myself. But then again I am not a fan of the Fat Boy and I like the V-Rods, not for a main bike though.
