Getting points set right and having to remember to close fuel petcock when stopped for the day. My first windshield, thought I'd died and went to heaven.

Me and a buddy building a basket case panhead I bought. Getting it all together and having it blow big blue smoke rings out the tailpipe. We didn't realize we had a flywheel off a 45 which is smaller in diameter tore it back down had the oil scrapper plate built up and stroked it without stroker plates it was 100 percent compression and was the second fastest harley around . The local president of the Bandidos had the fastest his bike would take it but not by much. We blew it up in short order but it was fun while it lasted. Heck of a beast to kick start it could send you over the bars.

I live in Independence Mo now. Back in the mid 80's to 93' I was back down in Texas (where I was born). Moved back up here in 93' ..Weird because I graduated high school at Raytown Mo. I was back and forth from Texas, Mo, and Oklahoma when I was a kid up till I graduated.

Thought so , I ran all that area from 72 till 88 lived on the KC / Raytown border 1mi. from the stadium . My daughter and grandkids live in Indep. Who's still open in the old shops ? Got a bunch of my bike education down at Wayne's Choppers back when I was a stinking green 20yr old kid , the old guys didn't kick my butt too hard and I was persistent . Somebody in this thread described that place to the letter dirt floor that looked like asphalt so much oil had sunk in , I never did see what all was in that back room it was packed so full . Dicked around at the old Doug's choppers off and on , he was a flake sometimes but had lots of fluff around . Worked at Kansas City Harley Davidson out by Indep. 78 & 79 before they closed . Did work out of my garage always and the swap meet at the old I-70 drive-in was mandatory . Good people there , miss Bryant's BBQ bad but you can have the rest .

6 cyl Chevy points were as near as the closest Wallyworld and open on Sunday.

"Horsehair" oil filters, copper air filters, and lots of silicone seal.
