Can never go wrong with Craftsman - I have lots of their tools for my cars and never broke one plus Sears guarantees them.

If you were a pro mechanic, you'd buy top of the line because it's your livlihood. As a weekend wrench, a harbor freight is A) cheap and B) will do the job you need it for. I have those and they work fine.

HF had this one on sale a while back for $11.99 !!!!! 20% off coupons are almost always available somewhere.

The HF ones I have have worked fine.

Ever since the snap on man showed up at my shop to sell me a ton of tools then wouldn't show up after that because I was a one man shop and to far out of his way, I've went elsewhere.

Get the Sears top line, last I looked it was still the Craftsman line, their cheaper line doesn't/didn't have the warranty like Craftsman.

As you get more and more into tools you'll find different brands will have tools that work better for you.

Look for sales at Sears, and check the toqure specs out to see which wrench you'll use most and get that one, then the others as you need them.

I got mine calibrated every two years when I was using them a lot.
Having them checked after buying is probably a good idea.
All depends on how accurate you have to be. imho

I've had Harbor freight torque wrenches for years. They work fine, lifetime warranty and the price can be beat.
I have lots of Craftsman tools, getting anything replaced under warranty has been a real PITA the last few years. Must have been a change to Sears policy. I've also seen others getting excuses on different tools as well.

If you have a Harbor Freight store in your area go on their web site and get the coupon for the 1/2 in drive torque wrench for $9.95. It is a good tool.

You can spend $400 for a torque wrench or $20 but your bike won't know the difference.

I had a 21 year old (Got it as a wedding present) Craftsman ratchet go out on me. Walked into the local Sears "mini" retail store (Small town style) holding it in the air. A sales guy sees me, walks over to a drawer, and grabs a "refurbished" one out and says "This about right?" Took me 45 seconds and I was out the door with my refurb...literally...No paperwork, I couldn't believe it.

Might want to look at Lowes (Kobalt)...I got the 3/8" drive ft/lb for ~$70. Also, which type you get (i.e. in/lb vs. ft/lb) depends on what you plan to tighten. One thing with either you can up/down convert by multiplying & dividing by 12. Hope you get a good deal & find one that suits your needs.
