Anyone have any recommendations for good books with motorcycle/hd/etc. prominence?

Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance was good (at least it seemed good when I read it in 1975).

I've read a lot of books on MC. Hunter S. Thompson's "Hell's Angels a Strange and Terrible Saga." was pretty good. Its was gonzo journalism.

Riding on the Edge- good
The Original Wild Ones-good

i just finished a couple books by sonny barger which were interesting.

also, the book about "no angel" by the atf agent that infiltrated the HA was interesting as well. with all of them, its hard to determine what is and isn't truth.

"Under and Alone" is better than "no angel" Jay Dobyns seemed like a major dick!
But it is difficult on those to figure real for fiction but they are good entertainment.

I found the Harley Davidson Reader to be a good flight/beach book. Collection of short stories, history, etc.... Most stuff you'll probably already know, some you won't.

There's a sequel to "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance." I thumbed throught the book and decided that it is mostly more of the same. It's available at Borders

This is one of the best IMO - Although its nonfiction:

Under and Alone: The True Story of the Undercover Agent Who Infiltrated America's Most Violent Outlaw Motorcycle... By William Queen

There was talk of a movie with Mel Gibson playing the lead but it has not happened.

Sonny Barger's books are interesting too. His books are fiction and nonfiction.

Our friend Roosterboots writes some funny stuff. You should give him a bump and pick up his book.

"Death in Sturgis" Great read. Fictional story with Sturgis area facts, geography, geology, history, and culture.

Pilgrimage On A Steel Ride, a memoir about men and motorcycles, by Gary Paulsen.

An entertaining quick read about a man buying a Harley and riding around the country from New Mexico to Alaska.
