oh, don't ever get rid of your S-10, that's GREAT mileage, mine never got over 22mpg. of course it was only a 4 cyl, 5 speed and I drove it like the old man I am.

BTW: the OP never asked if he should ride it back, only info on cheap, reliable transport.
Yes that S10 did get great mileage 1987 4cly, 4 spd. The engine wasn't strong enough for the OD on the 5spd and 4th was too low for the highway (a friend had one and his got about 27 MPG). Unfortunately after 250k miles that truck was used up and I needed something bigger for towing and hauling.
I don't know why over 20 years later they can't build them like that.
I still maintain doing it yourself can be a little cheaper and is as reliable as anyone you could hire.

He does a lot of towing for people from the northeast out west and down south. He is rated on UShip. Lives in MA and is actually heading to MO for a friends BBQ soon.

Prefect scenario is for the wife and I to ride my Road King out there and her and I ride both bikes back. Problem with that is that she only has about 700 miles riding experience on her '04 883 custom that is lowered and she is short in the inseam, and the ZRX is fairly tall and has been fitted with a kz650 (dirt track style) seat/tail that doesn't have much cushion. My Road King has a fairing and tour pack and is fairly top heavy. I'm pretty sure I can get a gel pad and whip up a lowering kit for the Kawie on site, tell her to ride it, but that will probably result in not getting laid for a few weeks!

I'm wishing we had one of those diesel toyota 4dr pickups that get 50 MPG & get imported to every country but ours.

Thank our government & the Big 3 American Auto manufacturers for that little f*ck you , it's a behind closed doors embargo deal blocking a number of high mileage dependable vehicle's from ever being imported . GM & Ford can't produce anything similar , would kill there market share . Worked in the industry for 20+ yrs , the general public is taking in the *## every day because of that .

Oh I understand that just like every other stupid bunch of gov crap, the cash for clunkers that the import auto makers benefited from and the BIG one FREE TRADE AGREEMENTS and the retarded no import taxes on import car and trucks assembled in the US! Our economy is NOT going to recover without a MAJOR revamp and common sense government.
