The current "Sedona Orange" craze
#132
through 2000 my bikes were all black. likewise, in 2000 I bought a black Deuce. Chromed it out, pepped it up to 108 HP and TQ. Then I saw a numbered HD tangerine paint set with ghost flames. Patience grasshopper. A new set appeared on ebay. Bought it. Did the work myself, and sold the black paint set on ebay.
I prefer the Deuce for riding in the city. The Deuce is set up with a Corbin Solo. Then I bought a copper/blk 105th FLTR. I prefer it when two-up or for the long ride. Does that make me a RUB? Its hard work being a RUB. Trust I am entitled to some name like "RUB" for paying the all the taxes I do other than "sucker."
Call it tangerine, call it sedona, call it copper (my 2008 Fltr 105th), its all orange to me. I saw a Sedona FLTRX at the dealership last week. The first 2.5 minutes were "love." That got me thinking of trading in my '08 FLTR copper/blk for a 2011 FLTRX in Sedona. Worth it?

Hmmm well I don't remember that I have ever owned a bike that wasn't, at least for the most part, black. Must be in a rut. I have a friend who just bought a Road Glide in the orange. Never been a big fan of the RG, but I have to admit...his looks pretty sharp in that color.

Now you tell me. Could have painted my Sportster, put on a shark nose, modded the engine to a 96, and everything else it would take to create my brand new Road Glide. Any other words of wisdom before I make another huge mistake?

My first choice was a vivid black 103 SG. Then they made the mistake of rolling out a 96" Sedona Orange SG one day before the paperwork was signed. That was all it took. I wasn't aware of any craze for the orange at the time, but I'm sure glad I picked that color.. I love it in the sun..

I bet being a RUB beats being a poor, saving money from multiple paychecks to afford parts, can't always ride because gas is expensive biker like me.
