Default Beer prices in Sturgis

I was talking to a local last night about his week in Sturgis. He mentioned how they were charging $4.50 a beer pretty much everywhere. Will the ripping off ever cease?

One Eyed Jacks jumped from $4.00 to $5.00. Kind of screwed the gals on that deal. The used to say "four dollars" and most guys would hand them a five and say "keep the change."

You can still find cheap beer, especially out of town.

I guess the thing has gotten too big ... corporate folks moving in to take advantage of the masses.
Remember that last Woodstock anniversary festival where the masses revolted and burned down the concession stands?
I still want to go there at least once like any other, you no cause bikers have more fun than people.

Yep, sure is crazy, but I guess they look at it like this-buy or go dry...lol. A long neck is mostly in the $2.50 range around these parts and around $4 at special events. Like someone said, as long as people will buy it for that price, there will always be the guy who will sell it for that.

When faced with abnormally high booze prices I carry a flask of bourbon and just buy Cokes at the establishment in question and mix my own on the down low. Toss in a beer here and there and it's fairly economical.

It's the only time of the year that Sturgis makes money. So if you attend and drink beer I guess you need to budget for it. Or better yet go to the store and buy a case and sit at the hotel and drink.
