Beer prices in Sturgis
#62
I just got back and I didn't think the prices were all that bad, heck I pay more for food and drinks at the state fair. If you go to the right places on main street you can get beer for $2.50. At the Dungeon Bar on Main we paid $4.00 a beer. At the Full Throttle we paid $5.00 a drink, weather it was beer or a cocktail. I had no problem paying these prices because I felt it included the price of the entertainment. There is all kinds of entertainment at the Full Throttle that you don't pay for, bands, dancing girls, burn out pit. There was a $5 cover to get in but you got a free drink ticket which really makes it no cover. Dungeon Bar had no cover and a great shot girl walking around. I think it was really reasonable.

Just about every town has either an American Legion Club or VFW, that don't gouge, and appreciate the business. We had beers in Sturgis and Custer at $2-$3 a bottle for Bud and Mich Ultra. Both were located at the east ends of the main activities.
Last year we paid $4.50 - $5.50 from the cuties selling it around Thunder Road.
At the club in Sturgis, we found the JackPine Gypsies selling T-Shirts, and giving out free bumper stickers advertising next year's 71st Annual Gypsy Classic.

I'm with you Joe... the prices were fair as any event, actually cheaper. When you got out of town there were $2 beers all day long. I hope you didn't pay $5 to get into the Throttle, if so somebody got you, but that Circus is probably the best bang for your buck.....Went to Beluah on the way back from No Panties day,,,,now that place was f*%N nuts! Burn-outs on a platform 40' off the ground....BTW I don't drink, but if I was as miserable and negative as some of you other non-drinkers are....I might start again..LMAO
We did pay $5 to get in but we got a "free drink" ticket for the $5 entry fee. So that made it free to get in as long as you were gonna drink. Not sure what the point of charging $5 to give a ticket for a $5 drink. I guess to get some money out of those that were not gonna drink at all.

FTS is 5.50 a beer, but there is great entertainment all day and night. Bands, burnouts, midget wrestling, dancing girls ... With no cover it is not a bad deal unless you drink a whole lot of beer.
