I put a leather fuel tank panal on my bike (with a pouch) Here is my question. Inside the pouch there is a 1" x 9" nylon strap inside of the pouch. What the hell is strap for?

You bought the "Deluxe Masochist Pouch".

 

You use it to assist you with getting something out of the pouch.

Say you want to stuff a bandana or a pack of smokes in the pouch...pull the strap out then stuff the item in the pouch with the strap riding underneath the item...when you retrieve your item you can pull on the strap to help pull your item out of the pouch.

 

I use mine to pull out my Marlboro's and Zippo. Otherwise, you need needle-nose fingers to pull out whatever you stashed in there.

 

Its like that little nylon strap under a 9 volt battery in something....you put the battery in on top of the strap then when you need the battery out u pull the strap and it pops out...same general concept just makes it easier to get stuff out. I think this thread is over unless theres some more humuorus aswers......
