Default Posting interesting topics on HDF is pointless

I'm all for keeping things civilized, and I agree - if I don't like it I can leave - but i've noticed that the only threads that survive in here are the ubiquitous fashion threads - or any thread where every harley rider can get along in a homogenized forum posting how much they agree with the other forum members

is there a section where debate is allowed - and regardless of personal opinions, the thread is allowed to continue? Its gotten to the point where there is no point - why put effort into responding to any interesting topic of debate when the threads aren't even just 'locked' but completely deleted?

I know it'd be a huge disappointment to many of you if I get banned - but at least I don't take anything posted here personally....forums like this don't really give you a good idea of the person on the other end of the line

oh - "harleys are fun to ride" (now it's on-topic for this forum)

I'm thinking there should be a "Butt Hurt" forum...

You know, where all the guys who feel that this FREE site is being managed improperly and not to their liking, can express those feelings in a safe, homogenous environment...

And staying on topic, I had a really fun time riding my Harley yesterday...
Nice long ride with a cute little redhead, great steak dinner, AND I got laid...Not a DAMN thing to bitch about today...

Vs. lemme give you some insight. From what I have learned about this forum, if everyone could remain civilized, and refrain from name calling, and low blows, the thread lives. If not, it gets taken care of. We are not paying to use this forum, so the folks that run it can do whatever it is that they see fit. This is not a democracy, This is a moderated forum. Kinda like a town-hall meeting with lots of security. So, you are right, if you don't like it, go away.

I gotta admit that I read about one post in 20 (or 30?, or 50?). It seems that most posts here are now about rider fashion, colours, chrome, RUB's, TV shows, speakers/gps/ipod mounts and all that other real fascinating stuff. It's getting to be light reading but it's still better than nothing. Just my opinion.
