Old Age and Harley Davidson
Some of you may find this article very interesting. Like the writer, I once owned a 68' 650cc Triumph Bonneville. My first scoot. Now at 57 I can identify with the writer, his thoughts and his experiences. Yes, I wish I still had that oil leaking Triumph, but I would never give up my Harleys. Great insight and reading.

RE: Old Age and Harley Davidson
Thanks for that, Honus. It struck a chord. I'm still rolling down the road on my Heritage at 63, though unlike the writer I've ben riding more or less continuously for about 45 years, since I bought my first new bike, a '65 BSA Lightning Rocket.
More proof of the adage that you don't stop riding because you get old, you get old because you stop riding!

Great article. He has pretty much pegged the Harley mystique and the experience of purchasing and owning a Harley. He recognizes that Harley's are in a class by itself. Thanks for posting it.

Great article. I can really associate with the whole thing. I'm 72. I had to laugh: all my life I've worn Casio type watches and drove small, econo cars. About 8-10 years ago I figured there were some things I had better get done or I would never do them. It's funny now when I think about it but I bought a Tag Hauer and a Porsche Carrera Cabriolet. I still have the Tag. LOL
He does a good job describing the Harley mysteque

Got a TAG for my birthday back in the mid eightys. Part of the deal at the jewelers is that if you bought the watch there you get free battery replacement. Last time my battery died, I went in to the jewelers and the guy asked how long i'd had the watch. Told him I didn't exactly remember but probably twenty some years. He laughed and said I was killing him on the free batterys, that watches weren't supposed to last that long.
Good Luck
