I've had that feeling... once I decided to take the bike out anyway ... couldn't shake the feeling after a few blocks so turned around and went home... who knows what could / could not have happened... better safe than sorry I guess.

I call it the " Itch " and the few times I've ignored the feeling it's hurt one way or another .

I am not only a biker but also a semi-professional scuba diver instructor CMAS. That means that I donot train beginners but experienced divers a.o. in wreck diving at the NorthSea. One of the meanest seas in the northern hemisphere. I always instruct my students: If you don't feel confident or you have an uncomfortable feeling before your dive, DON"T dive! Because this is one of the basic rules in experienced diving, the buddy will accept that without any comment. I got the same in riding my bike, if I have an uncomfortable feeling I will or take the car or stay home. But in no case I don't take my feelings not seriously...I am too experienced to ignore them..

I thought I was different, but see this is pretty common. This has happened to me several times. One day had a strong feeling of a head-on, that day on the way home from work there the car was coming around a curve about 2-3 ft over into my lane. another time i was about 2 sec behind a car and thought for some reason to back off and as soon as I did there were two big pieces of sod stacked on top of each other in the middle of my lane any closer to the car and i wouldnt had enough reaction time. Ive had several other incidents like this. It dont keep me from riding but i do pay extra attenion when i have a feeling.
