What kind of ear plugs

Like others mentioned Howard Leight Max , I use orange corded ones for work, love em. Kep some in the saddle bag for highway ride, I just hold the plug and pull the cord and good to go.
If you want PM me your address and I'll mail you a pair so you know before spending if they suit you or not
By the way, they are pre molded somewhat soft foam not like the cylinder shaped hard foam cheapies

I got a set of Alpine earplug from an internet store that I really like. It is a silcone plug that has 3 different dampeners that you can change out for the amount of db reduction that you like. Also you can hear conversations with any of the dampeners you choose. Also Lee Parks (Total Control)offers a very nice plug that you can hear conversations too.

I was thinking that something like this over your ears with the plugs in them might work like the foam over a microphone. The plugs will block the noise and the "warmer" would protect from the wind.

I know it's not fashionable but it might help...just a thought

I've got a couple handguns and shoot from time to time. I always have a pack of the orange foam plugs in my shooting box. I used to use those.
Now I've got a pair or Skull Candy ear buds. If I'm riding the highway i throw those in with some tunes from my iPhone. They block out a lot of wind/road noise even with no music playing. Love em.
