Default handlebar swap help

I have a 2005 1200C and I want to change the bars out to chrome bars. Harley only makes the pull back bars in chrome for my sporty which I don't want the bars any closer to me. I also want to run the wires internal when I do the swap. I do not want to change the length of the wires or cables. Does anyone know of a aftermarket bar that is close to the stock bar that is pre drilled for internal wiring that would allow me to make the switch without increasing the lenght of the cables. I could sure use some help with this.

Take a look at this list to find the measurements your model. Then try to match it with an aftermarket model.

Be really careful drilling stock bars for internal wiring. I know of two local guys that had this done (by an independent shop!) and within a few months, the bars BROKE!!!!

I've never done it, or even read up on it, but I believe the large diameter bars are much safe for these projects...

Proceed with caution!!!

You may not be able to go internal without lengthening your harness. Just a heads up. I went two inches higher on mine, went internal and had to swap out everything at +4.

check out jpcycles.com, they have many bars to choose from. i'm planning on going with mini apes and know i'll need to lengthen cables. they list measurements as well. good luck.

If anyone knows of a bar that will give me about 3-4 inches of additional pull back over the stock 1200C configuration, let me know.

part number 56082-83T is chrome replacement for sportsters equipped with 56082-83. 56085-83T is chrome replacement for sportsters equipped with 56004-00. 56081-82T is chrome version of 56081-82. Check your parts catalog and see which handlebars you have on the bike now and HD most likely will have a chrome replacement. Unless you get fatter bars though, it will be difficult to run the wires internally.
