Default Heat issues?

What are the "Heat Issues" with new bikes? I don't plan to ride in traffic much...mainly a weekend cruising bike..not a daily ride.
Yes, I think used will be the way to go. I don't know how the salesmen at the dealers can survive when they can't "deal"..in this economy. !?

Ebay has a search feature that allows you to see "Sold" bikes over the past 90 days. It's amazing how low some of the bikes go for. Most are unsold with "Reserve not Met"...Read that as priced WAY too high.

Some great advice here. Buy used and be prepared to travel. If you have done your research, you know the prices. I would think you could get a much better deal if you bought outside of California based on threads here on the forum.

The "Heat Issues" are on the 07 and later bikes. I wouldn't let that bother me, as that can be easily "fixed" once you have the bike.

Harleybass et all,

Thanks a bunch for the advice...I really had not considered Ebay as an option...guess I'm still old fashioned, especially regarding buying something as expensive as a bike, but you are right. A great resource!

I looked on Ebay and saw all the prices! Some of which made my headspin. People wanting 2K more on an 3 year old bike than MSRP on a '11 ! With a few, or NO add-ons.

What is the fix for overheating? Oil cooler?? I think I'm looking between 2008- for my bike. And out of state is really not an option since in California, you have to have more than 7500 miles to register an out-of -state bike, due to our California emission standards. And I think 7500+ miles on a two year old bike may not make it the "cream-puff" I was looking for.

Definately seems lilke the HD dealers are really NOT the way to go.

Thanks

Tony
