How long after a highway ride ? You're telling us you checked it cold all the time, so how many hours after this ride was it when you checked the oil ?

At least seven or more. The engine was completely cold. The oil level was checked several times over a three day period and it was always low.

Put the oil in, drove home. Let the bike cool, checked the next day and it was over-full.

Go figure....
