My wife and I use the brake lock reminder cable. It works to keep jackets safe too, by threading the cable through the sleeves.
Any lock is only a deterent-if it is wanted bad enough it will be taken.

The K?? helmet locks but I have since got a leather bag with water bottle holder and it covers the lock up. I need to slide the lock arround but have forgotten what to do about the anti removeal screw heads that the lock has. Any hints on how to loosen them up and then tighten them again? thanks

 

I don't do this all of the time but, when I don't have space in the tour pack I sometimes carry the helmet into a restaurant with me. I had rather get use to carrying it around than worry about someone stealing it.
