For 17 yrs I lived an hour away from their shop. John's HD was sold, then changed name to Thunder Mtn, then they moved their entire operation to this huge complex off I-25, complete with a Hooters restaurant.
They used to use 85% HD parts to build their custom bikes. I was back there in March. I was told then that they are no longer building bikes. But, since they're basically Harleys, I wouldn't be afraid to buy one, as it can be serviced at any HD shop and there are only a few custom parts, if any.
I'm sure some guys that live in Denver or Ft Collins that post on here will know more.

I was at the dealership in CO. in 2001, yes HD was servicing them, my brother lived outside Boulder at the time. Recently he told me they came into some law suite liability trouble, I don't know the details, but I think it is true they are no longer building them.

The dealer by me was/is trying to sell the ones he has, they never did take off a good as expected. And now I believe they are defunct. A guy I know bought the 1200 sportster version, and has had alot of issues with stuff just falling off. Nice looking bikes, but Harley was too late trying to cash in on the chopper craze.,,

They looked really good! I liked the fact they used mostly Harley parts, thats great if you have a problem on the road.
But, when you get up into the $30,000 to $40,000 price range you have priced yourself out of the mainstream market.
I worked at a Harley shop with an old man, that had been workin on Harleys since, God made Grapes.
He said " Harley structured their pricing around the mid-priced Ford car", I don't know how true that is, but, I do know if the pricing gets too high, sales fall off proportionally.
Too bad Thunder Mountian couldn't grasp the concept!

there gone the same way others so callled builders how many biker buildoffs have you seen on t.v. all that, stuff lasted maybe 1 and a half yrs, when people figured out riding a large rear tire was like riding a stage coach and you had to have a block to turn it around the market said no way, of course economy diden`t help one of the indys in my area who consigns bikes has 12 custom for 16000 all were 50 grand 2 to 3 yrs ago
