Default HD hard tail?

HD needs to stop screwing around and just make a factory hardtail. It seems that it would be a less expensive bike to produce. They want a new "old" market share. Seems like they would sell plenty. Just a thought.

Yeah they look cool, but obviously you've never ridden any long distance on one. Try doing a coast to coast run on one. They are miserable for long rides. But they are great bar hoppers. In this day and age, the liability for producing a bike like that would be tremendous. You know how it is these days, people are winning huge lawsuits on crap that they obviously knew were harmful to them but did anyway. Not many take responsibility for their decisions.

Peter Fonda said that riding Captain America just for the movie scenes made it difficult to walk afterwards because it was so painful. I'll take the one with shocks, thank you. Broken back? Probably not. Painful ride? Yep. I've always said it takes a hard *** to ride a hard tail.

I know a guy with a 1956 panhead, All done up, looks SUPER gangster.

I told him i'd trade him straight up for my 06 fatboy, kind've joking. But he's got like 30k into his bike.

He said, you would never want my bike, you can only ride for tops 30 mins. lol I told him yeah, but I can park it outside my house and look like a BAD dude though.

20" apes, 4 inch riser, neck stretched 4", jesse james long back fender, no blinkers, no electric start, Stretched dual tanks. All looks gangster, and awesome, but if you want to actually ride the bike. You don't want a rigid.

Yeah! Why at least one out of a thousand buyers might want one. You mean cheaper than the $12,000 out the door cost of my 010 Dyna SG?

Lots of dealers have teamed up with other companies and sell hardtails right off the showroom floors. It seems all the people who wanted them, bought them. Then they realized how bad they suck and theres a flood of low mileage hardtails as far as the eye can see. Not a snowballs chance Harley's gonna make a rigid frame any time soon. 20 years latter my back is still recovering from my days of riding hardtails.

Remember though; All HD's use to be hard tails. My 1942 "45" was a hard tail with a huge pogo buddy seat and springer front end. Being I was only 16, I did not ride it coast to coast though. That seat did have a lot of padding in it.
