I usually leave mine idling outside the bar. Anyone would think I only ran in for a moment.

All the locks in the world on a bike won't do any good if they really want to jack it. I have heard when I was down at Thunder guys jump out of a pick-up slide a couple poles in the wheels dump it in the bed and gone,no need to mess with the lock........that being said, been to Thunder a couple times and Mountainfest and no bikes around us ever came up missing. Make sure you have good insurance if your that worried is all.

As others have said, with all the police around I wouldn't worry much IN Sturgis. I have a friend who got his Fatboy stolen along with 3 other bikes on his way to Sturgis. They stopped right outside of Chicago for the night and got a room. They were all taking turns peeking out the window at the bikes. One guy looked out at 4AM, everything was fine. The next guy opened the shade at 6AM and saw an empty parking spot where the 4 bikes were.

They were really mad, the bikes were insured but they had the trip planned for a year and had to take a cab to the airport to fly home. I thought it was really brazen on the thiefs behalf taking 4 bikes at one time.

During the Sturgis Rally in 2004 a group of thieves were stealing bikes in the area.

A biker was parked at Rapid City Harley-Davidson looking at vendors when he saw a stranger sit on HIS bike, start it up and proceed to drive away. The owner ran after the thief and managed to catch him due to the bad traffic jam leaving the dealership.

The police were called and they later found the thief was part of a group that had camped in the area and had several stolen bikes at their site.

Tough times we live in, they gotta steal four to get what one use to bring.

While traveling lock em together at the frame (or to a light pole), it'll slow em down but if they what them they'll get em.

PS - unless anything has changed in the past 365 days, your AT&T phone is in paperweight mode. A pretty fancy alarm clock is all it'll do for ya.

It doesn't look likely in that pic (dry ground), but I tend to worry too much...
