Oil plug?? I dont need no stinking plug... oh wait maybe I do
WOW 40 years of changing oil on everything I can imagine, trucks, to pickups, combines to cars, ATV's to motorcycles and tonight I finally did what I had only heard of and wondered how someone could do something so dumb. Park the bike, hop off, slide the drain pan under it, pull the plug, get it draining, go around pull the pan over under the filter area as the oil quits draining out of the motor, pull the filter, replace it, go back around to the right side, start adding oil....
Apperantly I can unscrew the top off a oil bottle and pour it in pretty darn fast, cause I was almost through pouring in the second quart of Mobile1 before the first quart came running out on the ground toward my feet. AAAAAHHHHHH!!!!! Step back shaking my head and can only laugh at myself. In my defence and its no excuse I was moving as fast as I could to get away from the skeeters the size of small birds I had TOTALLY swarming me at the time.
Oh well, back to town to by two more quarts of oil and a can of the strongest OFF I can find. All done, its all good now, so now its off to the shower to rid myself of this wonderful OFF smell.

You're not the only one on here to have done that [sm=guilty.gif]. There are mitigating circumstances in my defence tho' - I'm an idiot!

The wife used to have a Subaru when we first got together. Pulled the drain plug, changed the filter, replace the plug. Couldn't understand why the thing would not accept more than 1/2 qt oil. The tranny drain was 4 inches behind the engine drain, guess which one this dummy pulled.[sm=guilty.gif]

I've been changing oil way to long, but last week I changed the oil on my new car for the second time. Finish the job, drove away and the light came on. Stop in the middle of the road to find out the o-ring from the last filter stayed in place and I never checked. Almost ruined a new motor. 5 quarts of oil sprayed out around the filter all over the motor, under hood, tire/wheel and whole under body.[sm=chairshot.gif]

I'm sure you were just flushing the motor.

anybody sees that big huge oil stain in the drive and asks what happened.... "ah nothin', just flushed my motor there." [8D]
