Fat Boy vs V-rod
#21
Looked at the Fat Boy and Vrod again yesterday, probably going to pull the trigger on the Fat Boy. Just going to reference back to this Thread to add some power to it. Saw a used screaming eagle version with the 103" motor. That one would probably be what I am looking for but trying to convince my wife to drop 22K on a used bike is going to be a challenge. Could always just buy and ask for forgiveness!

this is always the best course of action. unless you're independently wealthy it's never a good time to blow 10-20K+ on a motorcycle. your wife could always come up with 1000 different ways to spend it. i wanted a big twin and bought used too. the wife wasn't thrilled but she knew it was happening so figured she could get some swag out of it too.

V-Rod and Fat boy are 2 very very very different animals.......
I went with the Fat Boy after months of back and forth.
The V-Rod is white knuckle insanity with power and feel
The Fat Boy is an unbeleiveably great cruising bike.
If you are planning to ride for some time a couple of hours or more at a time, FAT BOY is the way to go. If you are out for a quick blast, V-Rod is it....
The V-Rod makes an awesome second bike as a quick ride but the fat boy is one you will cruise on and just want to keep on going.
