Default What Gives with HD prices on 2011 bikes.

Just finished looking at the 2011 models for the UK market. Then did a check to see what was being kept for the US market. As I have a Fat Boy I tended to look closer at the Soft Tails. What gives, in the UK the Cross Bones is now only £14,000, The Soft Tail Delux, a new arrival in the UK is £15,200 and the Fat Boy £15,900.( The Fat Boy Special is a couple of hundred pounds more than the standard Fatty), However in the US, the Fat Boy is the cheepest bike, followed by the Cross Bones and then the Delux. Who decides on prices of these bikes and why the stark difference.

I couldnt understand uk fatboy prices either. I was trying to choose between Fat bob and Fat boy. In the us there is a difference of $1000, about £600. In the uk its £3500 or about $5500

In the end I bought the Fab Bob.

No roadglide. There was the CVO version in 2009 though.

1 USD=.6370 British pound Sterling. It's been a long time since 1 pound was equal to two USD.

I dont understand why the bikes cost so much on the other side of the pond. I mean $30K for a fatboy is just crazy. How is your selection of used HD bikes over there? In the US we have used bikes out the As$. Maybe we could send you a few 10,000 bikes or so.

My First Guess would be supply and demand .. Think i would start giving the Crossbones a better look for the difference in price .. Let a few thousand people do that and watch the price change juggle again ... I don't know enough people in the UK to make any judgement calls but from the perhaps 100 I have run across in the Forums would say Fatboy Owners vs Crossbones is about 4 to1 ...
