I was cruising past the Sagebrush Cantina in LA and got a "modified exhaust" ticket from a bored LA Sheriff.

Does anyone know what the fine is if I don't go buy a set of new "legal" pipes and install them?

I have V&H Side Shots on my Sporty and they are loud, I will pay for them, just wondering what to expect in court.

 

Hell, the Fine will be $250-$300 If you DO Fix it. They need the money so bad they fine you either way!

 

I had one a few years ago. Put stock pipes on and get it inspected. I think it was $20 for the inspection. That was it. Put loud pipes back on after.

My experience in Des Moines, IA:
$75 defective muffler ticket. Didn't realize but it was $65 for court costs and $10 fine. Got the ticket dismissed but still had to pay the court costs. Saved me a whopping $10. I shouldn't have bothered because they got their money any way. Good luck!

 

If you were cited for 27151 cvc the fine is $108 however, Los Angeles county is one of the counties in the state that is exempt and allowed to increase the fine. I don't believe it is a fix-it ticket any longer just the fine.

Yea your right he was bored as hell or doesn't like bikes. Lets face facts you were in Calabassas residents there are probably pretty pissy about bike exhaust.
