My '07 Heritage doesn't vibrate at 70 in 6th gear. But then, I can't find any speed where it vibrates. I do kinda miss the idle shake of my old Low Rider though.

Jim

Not spinning fast enough with the new six speed. Drop it to fourth and see what you think.

Bought the Dyna because I love the rubber mounted engine and the look of the bike.

Don't like the counterbalanced engine.

Right there with ya on that, can't wait to get my hands on my '07 Superglide. The MoCo has some really nice options to choose from, but this bike felt like it was part of me.Just trying to understand why things are the way they are....

That's funny, I bought the Softail because I didn't want a rubber mounted engine and I liked the look of the bike. Name: laughing.gif

Good thing the MOCO has a wide range of bikes to choose from.

was driving 75 today and didnt really notice any harsh vibration that would be annoying. Just seems to me on the my 06 train to install a six speed trans and all of the highway vibrations will be eliminated. What do you guys think.

Yep, but unfortunately it leads many of us to 'need' more than one. Like two....or three..........or six! [sm=drooldude.gif]

really don't like the rubber mount looks like the engine is trying to leave
have 25000 miles on my 04 and have not felt any vibration that is bad
a little busss now and them and I ride between 70/90 most of the time..

I do not have any vibration issues... none that I have noticed at least. And I ride hard a lot. Average speed for me is probably 80-85.

And I don't have to worry as much about rear steer like the rubber mounted motors do...

I'll take the killer looks of the Softail, and the (ever so slight) buzz at 70 mph, over the engine looking like it is going to jump out of the frame at idle anyday. Another issue, not yet addressed in this thread, is the frequency of the TC88 motor mounts breaking on the Dyna and Touring models. Would really hate to be stuck 100's of miles from no where with a busted motor mount. I've never heard of an issue with a broken motor mount in a Softail. Anybody?
I tour, two up fully loaded, all day long on my FLSTCI at highway speeds and really don't know what all the vibration fuss is about. I've ridden TC88's on long trips and have heard more annoying noise and vibration from the unbalanced motor than I've ever heard in my Softail. I wish HD had the option of puting the TC88B/TC96B in a touring bike, I might consider buying one!

The A motors can also be built for more performance without fear of the balancer flying apart at high rpm. However the shitty crank bearing that HD now uses kind of negates that advantage.
