Default Powder Coating Wheels

I have a 2007 RG that had stock 9 spoke cast alloy gray wheels. Does anyone know if these wheels were painted or powder coated from the factory? And has anyone had these wheels powder coated gloss black? I spoke with a couple of powder coaters and they both mentioned that cast wheels may have a tendency to out gas causing pin holes in the powder during the heating process. If powder coating is a problem I’ll just have the wheels striped and painted using a two part paint. Any info is appreciated. Thanks

I had my stock wheels from my '03 FLHT powder coated by a local two years ago and they still look great! Easier to maintain than the stock factory machined finish. I haven't noticed any problems yet.

Hey Joe Knapp those RG wheel look great! I really like the red rally stripe. Since I posted this I found a shop up in Sheyboygan, WI that does custom car and bike work. I dropped the wheels off this morning. You are actually closer to me.
