Default Stock Fatboy Wheels or to change them?

One of the main reasons I bought a fatboy was because I like the solid disc wheels. Pardon the expression, but they look, well, fat or phat. If i wanted different wheels I would probably have bought a heritage. I love my stock fatboy wheels. the only change I would like to make is to have them chromed. I have ridden long distances and have not had problems with the wind. Sure its not the same as a wheel with holes in it, but that's the price I pay for vanity. And by the way, I really don't like the new fatboy wheels.Name: bnewxhaust006.jpg

I have a 2004 FatBoy. I switched out the stock solid wheels. I did like the wheels but I saw something I liked better. I put on a chrome 5 spoke mag wheel with matching brake rotors and matching pulley. It doesn't make the bike look as "bulky" or "fat" but I like the look. I am trying to sell my stock wheels if you know anyone that would like to buy them.

Just my 2 cents...

I agree with you! I like the Fatboy wheels, and I want to get my wheels chromed as well, with the (inside disk black powdered coated). I saw this on a Fatboy at a bike show, and it looked really GREAT. The jury is still out for me on the new Fatboy, I am not a big fan of the new 07 wheels, but I do like the wider rear tire. That being said, I am in no hurry to trade my fatboy in for an 07, but for me even to think about it, they would need to fire the guys that came up with the new color schemes and decals for the 07's!

To me the wheels are the main thing that says Fatboy. I bought the chrome ones...kept the look...and they clean super easy. Like wiping out two big pie tins.

Check out www.chromethathog.com. Talk to Dave. They have high quality chroming. Your wheels will cost about $550/set with exchange. You can just pay a core charge to get them sent to you, then send your stock ones back to get a refund of the core. I've gotten my wheels, calipers, pulley, swingarm, and lower fork legs from them. Very pleased with their stuff.

While you're at it, do the pulley for $100. The chrome from the back of the pulley and the rim will reflect nicely off each other.
