Default Have you ever tryed a oil stabilizer

I just changed my oil about 2000 miles ago . And wanted something a little heaver with out changing the oil again. Do to the heat. So I just tryed the Lucas pure synthetic oil stabilizer. And add 10 oz to my oil tank . It's a little pricey at $15 a qt.

I would never use that crap in any vehicle I cared about.

If ya gotta have heavier, add a can of STP (though I don't see the point unless you're running an old shovelhead).

I don't think you need to add anything to a good engine oil.

+1 on not adding anything .. .

That being said my FIL regularly adds STP to the oil on some of his GM POS cars and he gets 200k+ miles out of them. (We're talking Chevy Celebrities, Oldsmobile 88's, etc.)

I looked at Mr bobs info It did look interesting too. But I'm willing to try things to. So here's what my outcome was . I went for a ride and after the motor warmed up and the stadilizer blended in with the oil. About 5 or so miles I did hear the sound , that sounds like your stirring a empty bowl with a spoon GO away. And I can still hear the tappets making a good sound to. I also check the oil to see if it turned creamy and it was not. So am I happy with the product yes. Do I still want to get 20wt / 60wt yes . Why because I do'nt hear people bragging about it . 2004 sportser 1200C with 22,000 miles on it. Also the ride was about 25 miles.

Never have and never will run any additives in any of my junk!
I use the same brand oil I've used for the last Thirty-four years, and will continue to do so.
Use what you want. They'll keep making replacement parts for you guys!
LMAO
