I spent 3 hours on the side of the road, out in the middle of no where, barely any cell service, 97 degrees, waiting on a tow truck to pick me and the bike up. Had a flat on the front and it spun the innertube inside the tire so I couldnt fix it on the side of the road.
I would have rather been any where else than the side of the road. Sad thin is in 3 hours only 4 people stopped, one was a sherrifs deputy, another was an old farmer who gave me 2 bottles of water. Another took me to the gas station to get some fix a flat before I realized that I had spun the tube. The last was an old farmer we sat and talked for a while about bikes, He has a goldwing that he has taken to Cali twice and a 66 panhead that he bought new.
I saw 15 or 20 bikes roll by but none of them even got off the throttle as they rolled by. So much for the biker community helping out.......

My bike got towed away to see if it's totalled. I'm afraid that's a good ennough excuse.

I couldn't ride, anyways.....

kevmic28:

Lousy way to spend the day. Feel for 'ya, man.

Otherwise:

Spent this morning preening the ol' scoot for my upcoming Sturgis Sojourn. Left at noon for the local "big" town. Picked up some click straps to use to hold my luggage together on the scoot... and stopped by to look at hand guns. Took the wife and 10 year old grand daugther with me... made some stops for them too... we all ate at the Taco Mayo... home now and relaxing.

I doubt I'll ride my scoot much until D-Day*: The morning of August 7.

* Departure Day
