Mine is a daily driver, errand runner, long hauler and makes me smile every time I crank her over.
Definitely a toy. A well used, favorite, all your Friends want one, shiny, fun to play with toy.
Find some joy in your life.

Toy? You betcha! Wife said I was going thru a Mid-life crisis when I ordered it. I looked at it as a retirement gift to myself when I retired from the Navy in January. She's still not that excited but she'll get over it I guess.
This is my first one and I enjoy they #ell out of it.

My Jeep Wrangler is the Toy, the Fat Bob is a daily driver so I can my don't have to rush cleaning and servicing the Wrangler after off-roading it. In fact when I said that in the dealership it raised a few eyebrows, a lot of their customers do less than a 1000 miles a year on their Harleys. I clocked that in the first month of ownership just commuting to work & back.

My wife has her toys. That is where I can find the batteries if I need em, lmao.
I have my toys. ATV, Harley, etc. Call me anything except Late For Dinner!
I am thick skinned, things like this don't bother me.
Then again, I do jack of once in a while, lmao. Pisses the wife off, I do it to pay her back for something. Hey, if God didn't want me to play with it, he would have put it where I couldn't get my hands on it, lmao. (another story, another time, lol)

Mine have always been toys, only once could I have considered my motorcycle as basic transportation. When first married and no money, also lived 1/2 mile from work the Harley was our only means of transportation. Then it was not a toy.Yes,I become very child like every time I throw a leg over that Big Twin.
