I tried the half helmet out...I'm converted. I don't care how it looks, it's an amazing feeling.

As far as looks go, unless you wear a novelty 1/2 helmet, most DOT helmets will give you the "mushroom head " look. There are some that are better than others. I wear a Vega XTS and I found that it's not nearly as bad as the last 1/2 helmet I owned. I'm sure there are more out there, do a search and you"ll find some more threads on this topic.

Okay, you convinced me. I've got 3 1/2s and 2 FF, but no 3/4. I just ordered the Bell 500. It better be cool or I will hunt you down j/k

Anyone interested in a Vega XTS Naked let me know. I just received the one I ordered on line (large) and it is too big for me. They have kind of an oblong shape that is perfect for my head but I need to get a medium.

Gonna have to pick up a decent pair of sunglasses. My military issue ballistics are odd looking things, though probably the most appropriate things to wear.
You might want some ear plugs as well.

On a non-windshield bike, I personally find the full face more comfortable on long highway trips. The wind in your face is nice, but after 300 miles I get my fill and could stand a visor...knowwhatimean?

If you want the smallest profile and outer shell helmet you can find and still be legal; try one of the Daytona Helmets.

I agree about the earplugs for use with the half helmets. Makes all the difference in the world.

You think you look funny with a half helmet? Put on a pair of assless chaps. Your half helmet will start looking pretty good! ...and no offense to you chaps guys. Have to be politically correct everywhere now, or so it seems...
