In 1964 I traded a Colt Huntsman .22 Pistol for an old Vespa Scooter, year unknown. Sometimes I would have to push it a half mile or so to get it to start, but what a joy to go smoking, literally, down the road. It had no headlight, the rim was broken and couldn't be fixed, no front spring, as it rode on a piece of wood to keep the front tire from binding, but it had two wheels

Greetings,
Honda Cub in 64.....graduated to a Tote Goat.
First new bike was a 1969 Honda CB175.
Had megaphones on it within two weeks and a pocketful of tickets within two months!

I was about 12 or 13 and bought a 1940s Indian Pony that the owner took apart and could not put back together. Cost me $4.50.
Made a big profit on that. Sold it for $15.
Never could get it started. The kick start leg was missing and all I could do was push it up a hill and try to jump start it when coasting down. Didn't know anything about timing, so took it to Jack Tacy's brother a former Indian mechanic to set up. Jack Tracy owned the local Harley dealership.
I was lucky it didn't start. Found out one side of the gas tank had a hidden split underneath, all along the frame.

My first bike was a 650 Ninja. I didn't have a car then so for a while it was my only means of transportation.
