Vertical Plate Fine BC

Vertical Plate Fine BC
Hey everyone I bought my bike with a side mounted plate holding the plate in vertical position. Just curious if anyone in BC Canada has been pulled over for not having the plate in the horizontal position that section 3.02 dictates??
My buddy who I got the bike from was never hassled about it and so far neither have I. I just swung the plate to horizontal to be safe since I just saw the law on the issue last night.
I see it is $170.00 fine for improper display of plate. Just curious to see if they are enforcing that or tending to look the other way. If anyone has had experience with this I would love to hear about it.
Cheers

I know a guy who has the side mounted vertical plate as well and he never seems to be hassled about it but, like Aukland said, depends on the cop...and right now we have a shitload of raw rcmp recruits on the island here looking to make a name for themselves....
so if you fart you better make sure it smells like roses.

I agree thanks, no use in giving them a reason to stop you over something as lame as which way the plate sits. I think the only reason they kept that law is in case photo radar comes back and for their license plate recognition software they have been using. And the little cameras for when you burn through the yellow light.

I've heard of a few riders getting ticketed around Edmonton, but they tend to be the ones mouthing off to the cops or just being an ***. Before the anti-harley bylaw came into effect, they would ticket for anything if you were being obnoxious with the throttle.
They were also ticketing for reflectors and anything else they could think of. Now, it's just $250 each time they catch you riding a Harley in Edmonton.

MP, sorry... but not here. Stock HDs are failing. Often the cops aren't ticketing, but they're failing the test. I saw it happen. The idle test isn't the issue, it's at RPM they are failing.
Also saw a couple on a Road King with V&H pipes get pulled over and then let go without testing... but the driver parked it anyhow so he could visit with his cop buddies.
