Default Someone sure screwed up

I order all of the chrome hand controls and switch housings from Chicago Harley-Davidson over a month ago. I called last Thursday, July 15th and was told the accessories would be shipped that day. I called Friday the next day for a FedEx tracking number. When I checked the estimated delivery date on-line Saturday, there was none. After calling FedEx, they told me there was no scheduled pick-up at Chicago Harley-Davidson on Thursday or Friday. I called Chicago H-D back to find out what happened and they said that FedEx failed to pickup Thursday and Friday.

Ever have a day like that where nobody knows what happened or who was responsible for the screw-up? Lets see what happens today.

Just venting a bit.

Absolutely.

I ordered a part from Directharleyparts.com. Received the wrong gear. I called them and they assured me I would have the correct part in my hands within a week with a return shipping label for the old (incorrect) part. That was well over 30 days ago. Actually safe to say it's over 45 days ago now.

I've called...I've emailed.

I put the incorrect part for sale in the classifieds and will purchase the correct part from some place else.

Only order parts if you are not in a hurry to get them.

that is why sometimes buying from local or close is sometimes worth the extra 20 per cent, i only order things during winter and than only dress up parts that are not critical

I'm not in a hurry at all. I waited for a month already and had made arrangements to have the blings installed at the dealer on Friday. Now I have to reschedule. Not a big deal for me.

According to Chicago H-D it tuned out to happen because the FedEx regular driver was off and the replacement driver failed to pick up at Chicago H-D for 2 days. I was assured this morning my accessories would ship if they had to take them to UPS.
