Default Would you paint an anniversary edition?

Was going to buy all new tins but after trying to trade I in I don see the point.

Trade in was 14k. That's what a standard SG is getting. This paint set was an extra 2300 or so. So if it don't make the bike worth more when sold or traded why worry about stripping it and painting it.

Figure 1500 to get all the parts then paint it. I can spend that on a better paint job.

What do you think?

And save the coppertop comments and all that. I bought the copper cause I didn't want to be just another black SG. And I happen to like the color. But it's time for a change. Wanted a new bike but it's not in the budget so why not paint the one I have.

its an anniversary bike that thousands of other people own thats painted the same way, make it different, wont make one bit of difference in trade in.

i'd say NO, leave it alone and sell it private for at least the paint job more than what a std SG would bring. After all it did cost more, and is a collector's bike in years to come. Only a few anniversary paint jobs out there, and every year they get fewer.
Let it be.

Consider mods, miles, and condition of your bike. If it isn't 100% clean, stock, with ultra-low miles it's unlikely to bring much more than the regular model.

I don't have an anniversary edition, but my bike was originally a factory custom paint scheme, when I made my change I bought used tins and painted them. This way if I ever decide to go back, it's a simple tin swap.
I would not paint your tins, buy a used set. It cost me less than 600 for paint and about 300 for the tins. Should I regret my choice, I can swap back.

If i could get the tins for 600 that's an easy choice.

Tank
side covers
bags
filler with tribar light
batwing
inner fairing ( plan on painting that)
front and rear fenders

looking on eBay that's over 2k.

I paid less for this than the standard SG. They took off freight, set up and the 2200 for the anniversary edition. Ended up 18,200. Was 21,900. So that worry about paying extra up front for the 105th is a non issue.

Not doing it til winter so I have time to think.

Bike is mint. 13500 miles. 2800 in the last month so I'll be close to 20,000 by fall. Only changes are pipe ac and a pcv. Other than the little bolt on stuff everyone adds. Oh and I did the lowers and lowered it.
