Default Amsoil ????

I have a shop, and i am thinking about carring amsoil. Talked with a rep on Fri and he said you cant put amsoil in your harley davidson at the 1k point. He said 3k is perfered and if you absolutely cant wait you can do it at 1500mi. I know there are some amsoil guys in here is he correct. Been looking around on the site and didn't see anything to confim or deny that. I have an amsoil guy coming at 12 today so lets see what info you guys have. I don't think he is correct.

Thats what i thought too. I just thought it was wierd that an actual amsoil dealer would be saying that. But i guess just cause your a dealer doesn't mean you know what your talking about.....Harley Dealers im looking at you....

No, he is not correct. You can add AMSOIL, or any other brand of oil--synthetic or dino--whenever you want.

They claim the bike needs to seat the rings befor going with the Amsoil. Do what ya want, but I have taken their advice on 2 new diesels & 1 new bike. None have ever used any oil breaking in like they said. I know, I know , all the others on here say go ahead, well it's not their bike. By the way, almost 500,000 miles on that 1st diesel with no oil burning issues. The bike now has 34,000 & no issues. Good Luck , Amsoil is a good product, use the severe gear in tranny.
