2007 FXD Superglide on order-- Is the factory security system worth the $ 325 charge ? Does it function well, any problems ?
I still have time to add this option, trying to decide if it's worthwhile.

I got a good deal on the individual componets of the HD security system and installed them myself on my Ultra Classic. If you install the basic module and the siren only, it will cost you about $50 to $60 buck more than ordering it already installed.
I really like the HD security system I installed on my Ultra Classic. It would be a good choice to order it already installed.

I've experienced no problems with mine. I originally didn't want it but the dealer threw it in when I bought the bike and I've since heard of this happening for others as well. Ya might want to see if you can get the same deal.

I have an 06 Street Bob that came with the factory installed option.
I added the "siren" but not the "pager" option. (My granddaughter likes the chirp-chirp sound when armed)
I have tested it's effectiveness every way that I know how, and it has performed flawlessly.
I guess my intent is to make the would be thief move on the next bike that doesn't scream it's head off when you move it.
If they are gutsy enough to take it anyway - well that's what the Lo-Jack is for!

Works well, and if you smash your key fob, you can manually enter a sequence of button pushes to disarm it. (I can never remember what mine is cause I never use it) Make sure you write it down in your owners manual or someplace safe. Just remember to change it, as all bikes come with the same code new.

I have it---most of buddies don't but smile when they here the chirp, chirp from mine as we walk into an establishment. I love it.

I did not order mine, but it came with the bike. Now, I will never have another ride without it. Keeps the goofs away, and limits the serious theives.
