The "basic security system, is just that, BASIC.
It will kill the ignition and set off the lights when activated. You can then "purchase" more features from the MotoCo to make it a more advanced system(sirens, pagers) and the system becomes even better.

One major problem with the 07 and newer systems is the proximity keyfob. It is constantly wearing down the keyfobs batterys because it is always "on". With the pre 07 system you only used battery power when you push the button, so the battery lasts much longer.

A good thing to do is practice the "manual disarming" using the turn signal buttons and the ignition switch, and also to store a spare set of batterys for the key fob on the bike. (for the 07 and newer bikes)

 

Just chiming in to support the monthly practice of the manual override procedure. The timing for the code entry is quite breif.

 

A good feature but best if used with the siren. You could get by with the fork locks and a wheel/brake lock but that takes more time and effort. I like the pre-07 setup better.
