It's still a fob ring but instead of pushing a button to arm / disarm it does so by proximity.

Yes, it's worth the money. My 06 Clasic came without security & I added it. I also added the pager & smart siren. I use it all the time. When you set the alarm you disable the ecm and there is no way around that...

It's a great option. The part I like best is when I get off the bike, all I have to do is push one button and it's secure. Buddies have to dig out their keys, lock their ignitions, etc.

My son ordered him a 07 RoadGlide and did not get it. It came on my 06 but I don't use it. You can probably order the parts cheaper from Zanotti and plug it in yourself and save some money.

I still lock my ignition and fork locks in addition to the security button... I'd hate to see someone roll my bike away. But I don't have the audible siren. Sounds like a good add-on.

Got the security system on a new Street Glide and it works great. Nothing to push, just walk away and it sets itself. Keep the fob in your pocket and the alarm recognizes it when you get back. Great improvement over the push the button and watch the lights.

I wonder if they'll make a plug-in / upgrade to switch from the push-button fob to the push-less. That would be nice.

According to Harley Davidson the new HD Security System will only work on the '07 models.

For those that are interested, the part no. for the '07 Ultra Classic is 68922-07 - $239.95

Bloody good system. No hassles at all. The proximity activate/deactivate makes all the difference. Just don't sleep upstairs from your bike with the fob! My place puts the fob in range!
